Submission Guidelines

We are closed for submissions until further notice

We do not accept submissions from outside Australia, unless the author is an Australian or New Zealand citizen.

We consider both fiction and non-fiction for adults and YA fiction, but not fantasy or science fiction.

We do not consider educational materials, poetry, plays, film scripts or children's picture books.

We prefer an initial inquiry by phone, email or letter telling us something about the project and prospective author. If we are interested, we will ask you to send either part of, or the entire manuscript . We try to read and respond within 6-8 weeks of receipt of the manuscript.

If we do agree to look at your work please supply the following:

Fiction

• A brief synopsis, no more than 1 side of an A4 sheet.
• The first 3 chapters of the work. This should be typewritten, double or 1.5 spacing and on only 1 side of an A4 sheet.
• Some warm and friendly biographical details relevant to the work.

Non-Fiction

• An overview/rationale of the project.
• A detailed chapter outline.
• Biographical details indicating your qualifications to write about the subject.
• 3 sample chapters.

Young Adult (YA) Fiction

• Brief relevant biographical details.
• A short synopsis — approx. 200 words.
• Title.
• Target age range.
• Word count.
• First 3 chapters or complete MS if requested.
